All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Meet   Baby.

Since Baby  is in the middle of her medical treatment (heartwoms) and not fully vetted, she is not available to adopt.   As a result, she must be placed in a 'foster to adopt' home.  This means, the rescue still maintains legal ownership of the dog and upon completing the necessary medical treatment, we complete the adoption contract. 

As a foster, you would be required to get the dog to our vet (in Spring) for her necessary medical treatment (the rescue pays for this).  If this is a problem your application cannot be approved.

You may apply to adopt from us directly from our web site.  Please visit www.yorkierescuehouston.org/forms and submit your application.  Upon review, a volunteer will contact you if there are questions.  Please be as thorough as possible in the answering the questions.  

• Missing phone numbers (especially your veterinarian's)
•  invalid addresses
• other inaccurate data
• poor or inconsistent vetting history
• failure to disclose all current pets in the home

will cause your application to be denied without further processing.

Should be you approved to 'foster-to-adopt' (FTA), you will be asked to execute a Foster Contract and submit ½ of the adoption fee.  (Our adoption fee varies with each dog and payable by cash only.) Please take the time to READ the contract.  If the terms are NOT AGREEABLE, please do not submit your application.

Public Service Announcement:
Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
