All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Piper was found by a good Samaritan and taken home to be bathed and fed.  She was in rough shape.  Nonetheless, the finder tried to locate owner thru Nextdoor and Facebook posts.  No one came forward.  She brought to us still in pretty bad shape. Missing most of her hair (due to fleas) and severely underweight/malnourished, intact and suffering from mammary tumors.   she's receiving regular medicated baths and nutritious food.  We hope to help her gain some weight so she can be safely spayed and have her tumors removed.

She has some crate anxiety and her perfect home will not crate her.  she is a loving and gentle little girl who wants nothing more than to be in your lap.

She LOVES LOVES LOVES squeaky toys and will 'fetch'

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
