All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Now that Phoebe has healed, she's quite bossy!!  Foster mom say's it would be best if she was an 'only dog' as she is is asserting her dominance.  Phoebe's perfect home will be one with no other pets

Phoebe was witnessed being run over by a car.  In Cleveland, TX   Notorious dumping ground in the Houston area.  The lady who saw it pulled over and picked her up and took her home.  She did not seek medical care or treatment for her.  A week later, she reached out to us.

We immediately got her to our vet for xrays were it was determined that she had multiple fractures of the pelvis and both hips/legs.

She's a mess.  She will need extensive surgery.

Phoebe has had her surgeries and is healing well!

She will always have a limp.  but she is doing amazing!  She's ready to be your snuggle baby

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
