All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This baby was surrendered by his 'owners' to the local shelter.  They left him there without even his NAME!  So in honor of Star Wars Day (May, 4th) we named him Yoda!

Yoda was said to have lived with a Doberman and he gets along with larger dogs.  We have not found him to be 'bonded' to the other dog as he has adjusted quite well without him.

He is happy, playful, friendly, loves to give kisses and play with toys! Everyone that meets him falls in love with him. He is very loving and affectionate.

He is potty trained and he goes outside with his foster sibling but he likes to still mark, so he wears a belly band inside the house, just in case.... He does not like the crate but does very well at night sleeping at the foot of the bed and when we leave he stays in a smaller room with his foster siblings and he does well.

He truly is a wonderful little boy with so much love to give. If you are interested in giving this little one the forever home he deserves please contact us.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
