All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This sweet little boy was confined to his disabled owner ROOM for most of his life.  He was not housebroke, and was going stir crazy.  Thankfully, he was surrendered where he experienced real life for the first time in his life.

He was badly matted when we got him, and was quickly groomed and neutered. He had a dental and has blossomed into a wonderful happy little pup!

He LOVES TOYS and enjoys playing. 

Baxter is a chill boy who does well with other dogs.  

Loud noises scare him.  Yelling at him instills fear.  Baxter does not like men, testament to the treatment he got from his original owners husband.  He needs a single mom/family who can work with him on his house training with love and patience.

Belly bands are an effective solution for inappropriate marking.  

Baxter needs a yard.  No apartment life for him!

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
