All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Banjo was dumped!

This adorable boy was found in a box at the shelter!

Banjo was dumped with 2 females.  Bubble and Button.  All 3 were heartworm positive and all 3 have completed treatment!  Thanks to the loving care of his amazing foster family, Banjo has completely recovered from that awful disease!

He is so young he made a remarkable recovery.

Banjo is a delightful little boy who is now ready for his happily ever after. He loves kids and gets along great with other dogs his size.  His foster mom says he's the best dog she's ever had!

He started out shy and afraid, but has blossomed into a great little pup!

Public Service Announcement:
Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
