All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

George was born April 17, 2018.  He was orphaned and surrendered to BARC with his 5 littermates when he was just hours old. We took in the babies as we had a nursing mother who gladly took on this bunch of babies and raised them.  Shortly after weening, 1 by 1 the babies started getting sick.  Within hours, 1 died.  within days 3 more died.  Diagnosis! ? - DISTEMPER. 

Distemper killed all 5 of Georgie's littermates.  George survived.  He never developed any neurological symptoms.  He is 100% recovered with no lingering symptoms.  This boy is a fighter!  a Survivor!   and now, as hard as it is, it's time to let him go to his forever home.

You may apply to adopt George today, but be warned, You will have to be pretty special for me to send this boy to your home!

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
