All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Ellie has been in an active home with kids and done GREAT!  She is an amazing girl!  

Re-introducing Ellie2. Ellie is a 3.5 year old female Dorkie who was surrendered to the Montgomery County Animal shelter because she chased their cats. We have not seen that to be the case.  She is energetic and loves to play.  She was adopted and returned.  She didn't like/trust the toddler

Ellie has done FABULOUS in a home with multiple dogs and older, respectful kids!

however, NO CHICKENS for this girl!  SHE WILL CHASE THEM.

Strong leadership and handler skills will help this girl be her best self.

Lovable and would be a great pet for an active family or single lady.  

You must be an experienced dog owner.  If you have other dogs, they should be her size or bigger.

Ellie deserves the best life we can give her, and this is what it takes.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
