All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This adorable senior comes to us with a sad story. Her original owners were killed in a car accident when they were hit by a drunk driver. The daughter lived out of state and wasn't able to keep her. A good Samaritan took her in and made sure that she was up-to-date on all her vaccinations etc. But alas they did not feel that she was getting the attention that she so desperately is seeking. This sweet girl just wants to be with her person. She doesn't really want to be in your lap, but loves to sit beside you on the couch. She is house trained but if you are gone for extended hours it is suggested that you leave a pee pad out. She would be excellent company for a senior.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
