All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Bailey was discovered in the apartment several days after his dad passed away.  He had no family.  He'd had Bailey since he was a puppy.  He took him for rides on his motorcycle!  Bailey missed his dad.   Bailey was taken in by someone who rehomed him, who gave him to someone, who gave him to someone, who gave him away to a young girl who's mom said she couldn't keep him.  So, Sis did the only thing she knew to do.  She gave him to her older sister!  Sister backed tracked the 'chain of possession' and that's how we know his history!

This poor little dog has been bounced around to no FEWER THAN 5 different households in the last year!

He's in rough shape.  He's got a mouth full of infection and decay and... wait for it... yup - he's intact. .  

 We're neutering him and he's having a dental 1/31

This boy loves to play fetch, he talks when you tell him to speak and loves to sit in your lap, he loves lovins but he is used to being the only baby.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
