All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This little lady was hit by a car and taken to BARC.  The shelter sent out a plea for a rescue to pull, as she needed medical treatment beyond what the shelter can provide.  We saw the plea and knew she would be safe, with a rescue who would certainly tag this adorable girl.  Our intake was closed due to no fosters.  So, imagine our surprise when we saw her on the EU list THE NEXT DAY!  NO ONE STEPPED UP TO HELP HER! OH NO!  

She's ONLY 3!  We HAD to help her.  So, here she is!

She's been examined by the eye specialist and has no vision in her left eye.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
