All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This Owner Surrender is a bundle of happy, playful (yet nervous) puppy!!!  She will need some extra attention from her new mom/dad to learn to trust.  She likes to hide under furniture!  Yikes.

**FOSTER-TO-ADOPT

Since the puppies are too young to be spay/neutered, they cannot be legally adopted yet.  As a result, they must be placed in 'foster to adopt' homes.  This means, the rescue still maintains legal ownership of the dog and upon satisfying the spay/neuter requirement when the dog reaching appropriate age, we complete the adoption contract.  Our vet said they can begin spay/neuter at appx 3 months of age.

As a foster, you would be required to get the puppy to our vet (in Spring) for regular visits for vaccinations and their spay/neuter appointment (the rescue pays for this).  The dog lives with you, you feed, love and raise puppy as if you have already adopted.  Upon completion of vetting, adoption is finalized.

You may apply to adopt from us directly from our web site.  Please visit www.yorkierescuehouston.org/forms and submit your application.  Upon review, a volunteer will contact you if there are questions.  If approved, we will forward your application to the foster for review.  If the foster feels like this is a ‘good fit’, they will contact you to schedual  a 'meet and greet'

Public Service Announcement:
Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
