If you have decided you need to surrender your pet, we encourage you to reconsider.  Your pet loves you and in the absence of abuse or neglect, is always better off in the home he knows with the family he loves.  But if there is absolutely NO WAY you can keep your beloved yorkie, please contact us.  We will always try to help.  Intake is determined by available fosters and we never guarantee we have space available.

We require an  owner surrender form  be submitted before we take custody or financial responsibility of any animal.

Public Service Announcement:
Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.

If you fail to provide the information requested (Vet and/or personal reference contact information) YOUR APPLICATION WILL BE DENIED.
