All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Gizmo's mom had a baby and is overwhelmed with the demands placed on a new mom.

We know taking care of an infant is a lot of work, and want Gizmo to be in a home where he can get the attention he deserves.  He's a friendly boy with lots of love to give.  He is house trained, but due to the arrival of the new baby and maybe some jealousy, he's been 'acting out'.  

He is HW Negative and fully vetted!  Ready to go

Due to be neutered later than recommended, Gizmo has shown minor aggression toward other male dogs.  For this reason he should be THE ONLY MALE DOG in the home.

Gizmo is so sweet and friendly.  We are looking for a committed FOREVER adopter for this boy.  He was surrendered, adopted and then returned due to a health crisis in adopters family. 

THIS IS NOT OK!  He needs stability and a loving commitment.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
