All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

He does great with the people in the household but for some reason, he does not do well with men unless they are soft-natured guys.  Is reactive to strangers, and is a 'bluff biter' .  He does not like outsiders.  He will need a quiet home with few, if any visitors.  

He will bite, but not hard, and quick release.  He is a runner and will escape given the chance.  His adoptive home will need to be diligent in protecting him from himself.

If you are a SINGLE FEMALE, with a limited social circle, this may be the dog for you.  Meet/greets will be done IN YOUR HOME!  NO EXCEPTIONS.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
