All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Kitty and her 2 puppies are Parvo SURVIVORS!! They were picked up as strays by Galveston County Animal Control. We pulled them from the shelter and started treatment for demodectic (non contagious) mange. Just a few days later they all started showing symptoms of canine parvovirus. We immediately took them all to our vet er hospital where they were admitted and underwent rigorous treatment, which saved their lives. Kitty and her babies are now Parvo-free and their fur is growing back wonderfully.  Kitty is THE sweetest girl with an adorable underbite. LOVES toys and loves to be outside exploring the yard. She loves to play fetch. She loves attention, something I'm sure she never got enough of in her "former" life. She's very playful but also a quiet girl. Kennel trained, appears to be house broken and will use pee pads, but would rather go outside to potty. She will bark only to let you know she wants to go out or wants attention. We are currently working on leash training and doing well with harness and leash.  She deserves an amazing family who will cherish her, spoil her, play fetch with her and help her be the beautiful girl she is!

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
