All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This poor boy was relegated to the back yard.  Where the fleas and the bug were eating him alive.  After much begging and cajoling, he was surrendered to rescue when his skin was in such poor shape, the owner knew she could no longer care for him.  

He's been to the vet, where it was determined he has a rather severe heart murmur and needs a full cardiac workup.  We will get that done.  In the mean time, he's been placed on meds and is now healing.  He will be vaccinated when he's healthy, but for now... his system is too compromised to introduce vaccines.

This boy has a flea allergy and his adoptive family must be prepared to keep him on flea control for the rest of his life.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
