Chum needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping him get a new start?

All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Meet Chum! This little sweetie is SO cute! We know he is a poodle mix, due to his beautiful curly coat.

Poor Chum was severely neglected by his previous owner, who kept him chained up outside his whole life. He was never even vaccinated or given heartworm prevention! As a result of being left outside all the time, and without preventative medicine, he now has heartworms (which doggos get through mosquito bites).

Not to worry! He ended up with us here at Yorkie Rescue and he is getting all the vetting he needs. Vaccines, flea prevention, and now the heartworm treatment he needs to heal from those heart worms!

Since Chum is heartworm positive, he is available for Foster-To-Adopt only. Don't let heartworms discourage you - he's a strong boy and he will make a full recovery.

This poor little guy was so traumatized when he arrived, that he was very fearful. We have been working with him and he is improving with time and TLC. He is such a sweet little dog, and clearly just needed someone to provide him with a safe, nurturing environment for him to come out of his shell. He will need a loving foster-to-adopt home to continue to show him that people can be good, and give him the love he has deserved for so long.

Due to his fearfulness, he will need to be adopted to a home without children. Someone with patience and compassion for helping fearful dogs will be best for him. Love is the best medicine!

Chum is a small guy, microchipped and vaccinated. He's waiting to meet you and become a part of his forever family.

Apply to adopt Chum today!

We usually arrange our M&G at this PetSmart. Donations are also accepted via PayPal.

Please be patient if our response time is not as quick as you'd like.  We are all volunteers and do as much as we can, when we can.

Good luck, and thank you for considering adoption!
