All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

this gorgeous lady was turned in as a STRAY to the Harris County Animal Shelter. When they scanned her, she was MICROCHIPPED.... The shelter reached out to the 'owners' and they didn't want her.  Shelter got a SIGNED RELINQUISH authorization.  

Why, oh WHY wouldn't they WANT this beautiful lady?  

Fast forward... 2 days, we pulled this sweet girl, and she went STRAIGHT To the vet... where she immediately underwent surgery to remove a mammary mass.  the .7 pound tumor.

The pathology report indicated it was 2 different types of cancer.  however, our surgeon got good margins and she is now cancer free.  She will need annual labs to ensure no microscopic cells migrated, but for all intents and purposes, Haven is 'cured'!!!

 Haven is a very sweet girl!  She is good with older dogs, she would not be good in a home with a puppy or young very playful dog.  She also would be better in a home with no young children.  She does well in a kennel.  She just wants someone to love on her, take her on walks and to be a lap dog!

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
