All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This Sr.  was surrendered by her Senior when she became unable to address her needs.  Minnie and her doggie sister, Maddie were in the care of a senior citizen who found herself in assisted living accommodations and their needs became greater than her ability!

The dogs were left to fend for themselves, and lack of attention caused them to turn on each other.  Since they have been in rescue, we have done labs, ultrasounds, and diagnostics and found Minnie to be in reasonably good condition. considering her age.

Unfortunately, Minnie was found to have Cushings disease.  Minnie is currently on medication for her Cushings, and a low fat diet to address her obesity.

Minnie will need to find a home where resources are sufficient to address her needs.  

Minnie is available for adoption on our Senior-to-Senior program.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
