All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Eddie came to the rescue with Pup Pup from a neglectful situation. When he came into the rescue he was very subdued and reserved probably because he has lived his whole life being neglected. On intake he had nails that were 1" long and his skin was stained a reddish brown from the constant chewing due to flea infestation. He has some issue with his vision, so he will need to be seen by our eye doctor before he is ready for adoption. But right now he is coming out of his shell and showing that he is a loving dog who loves to cuddle and be with people. He is heartworm negative, has been brought up to date on his vaccinations, rabies, has been microchipped and neutered.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
