All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

You would think that if someone had a dog this cute and tiny that they would have taken the time to train it. It is so obvious that Duchess was an apartment dog because she has no clue what outside is. Everything outside is totally new to her and she does not have a clue that she should go to the bathroom out there. She is not housebroken, pee pad trained or leash trained. She hates the crate but does settle down after a while. Separation anxiety big time. We have a project but she is a sweet loving lap dog that will be perfect with training.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
