All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This sweet girl comes to us as an owner surrender. The owner loved her dearly, but was forced to give her up or lose her apartment. Bella is approx. 6 years old. Her owner reports her as being vision impaired in one eye due to an underdeveloped eye, having skin allergies to chicken and as of now needs to be on allergy shots. She is can be vocal depending on the environment she is in. If its highly active, she will be vocal. She barks at people that walk up and down the halls of her apartment, so she is probably NOT appropriate for apartments. She is good with people, including kids, and loves attention. House trained. She is used to having someone there with her, so looking for a home where she is not left for long periods of time.  Has lots of energy and love to be petted.

Public Service Announcement:
Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
