All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This boy was kept in terrible conditions and finally surrendered to the local animal shelter (probably in lieu of facing cruelty charges).  He had to be sedated to be groomed.  He is HW negative!  

He has to overcome some trust issues.  He will be rehabilitated and responsibly rehomed.

6/20/19 Skippy has come a long way over the last several weeks. He is a very sweet dog who just wants to be with you. He is not great with a lot of commotion so he will need to be in a family with teens and adults only. He has had some separation  anxiety,  but has not shown any in the last few weeks. He has turned into a very good, loving dog. He plays well with other dogs, but plays a little too rough with dogs smaller than he is.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
