All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Adopted 1 year ago.. and now a victim of this horrible economy.  Buffy found herself homeless.

This sweet young girl ended up in the shelter when her mom became too ill to take care of her anymore. She is understandably very scared and shy right now since she has been taken away from her home and the other dogs that she was living with. She is a little overweight right now so she will be on a restricted diet to get her back to a healthy weight. We can't wait to see her come out of her shell and blossom. 

Her foster reports she is house trained, and will go to the door and whine when she needs to go outside.

She is a wonderful little girl!!

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
