All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

The owners of this sweet girl abandoned her in an apartment. Luckily the apartment manager fed her and kept her safe until it was apparent they weren't coming back for her. She was severely matted so she had to be shaved downed, but we think she will have a beautiful coat. She is not much of a barker, is good with kids as well as other dogs. It's time to show her what a real family is!

This dog does not like to be crated.  She needs a home that will give her free roaming access and a bed with a child or adult.  do not apply if your intent is to crate her. Not her.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
