All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This sweet boy was purchased from a breeder and as with most of these tiny babies he has a condition which will require the repair of a liver shunt. Our vet believes that he is an excellent candidate for surgery, so he will be going to a specialist for further evaluation. 

UPDATE: Stitch has undergone surgery and has healed very well. His latest lab work (7/22/20) shows his ammonia levels smack dab in the middle of the normal range. This is excellent news. He is even feeling well enough to play with his foster sister. He will need to stay on a prescription diet for the rest of his life. But other than that he seems to be a normal little Yorkie boy.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
