All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Mikey was surrendered by his owner because Mikey was a bully to a dog half his size!!  She reported that her other tiny dog lived in fear constantly, and because she worked out of the home 12 hours at a time she was not able to correct this behavior.

Mikey has been with us only a week now, and we have not seen this behavior!!  It was probably just a personality clash.  Mikey kinda sticks to himself even tho there are other dogs for him to engage with here.

Mikey is a very sweet boy and will do well in a home with 10 -20 pound dogs.   Mikey gets along with all the other dogs in the fosters’ home.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
