All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This senior girl comes to us when her mom passed away and the dad became too ill to be able to care for her anymore. She is a very sweet friendly girl who loves to be with people. She is good with other dogs, but sometimes shows her alpha personality by marking. Her previous owner indicates that she is highly active - loves to run around the yard - so someone with an active lifestyle would probably be best. They indicate that she doesn't really understand the concept of playing with toys. She gets along with both men and woman, but she prefers to cuddle with her momma and is more cautious around men. Could you be her new mom and/or dad?

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
