All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Update 8/19/20 - Toby has been to the groomer and had his dental. We are starting him on medication to help with the chronic cough. He has also had his dental cleaning and was able to keep ALL his teeth which is amazing for a 13 year old. He loves to be with his human and will follow you everywhere. He is ready to find his new forever family - are you his person??

This sweet senior boy doesn't realize that he's a senior - he has a lot of spunk. He comes to us as an owner surrender whose job required her to be gone for long hours - Toby wasn't happy with her extended time away. So she decided to do what was best for him and asked us to help find him someone who would give him the life he deserves. Toby has a redundant membrane which can cause him to hack and cough but our vet has assured us it isn't anything serious. He does have a heart murmur but there is no evidence of congestive heart disease. He is in need of a dental cleaning which we are going to have done shortly. He's a great lap dog for a senior. He does not like small children, so only older kids will be considered for this senior.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
