All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This sweet boy come to us as an owner surrender - the product of a divorce. His sibling brother a Labradoodle stayed with the ex. This caused Toulouse to become a little depressed. His owners want him to have a full happy life and be able to play and run around. He is Moderately to highly active and would probably do best with an active family. While he is able to go short distances - he does get car sick with long rides. He loves toys and will take them outside with him. He doesn't play fetch, but if told he will go get his toy. He is very treat oriented and knows the commands sit and easy when feeding treats. He enjoys hiding under beds, chairs, closets and observing what going on around him. He doesn't like the sound of a clothes dryer or thunder. We will update more as we get to know him better.

Public Service Announcement:
Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
