All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Update: Sadie has come out of her shell. She loves being outdoors, comes when you call but she is FAST. Still learning the rules. Loves being in our lap all day if you let her.  Almost house trained and has been sleeping through the night with no issue. She will be spayed prior to adoption and currently no medical issues are evident. Good food and a loving enviroment has helped this girl blossom. 

Sadie was found running loose in an apartment complex, and jumped in a door-dash driver's car.  The finder posted in the apartment complex, and online, but no owners ever came forward.  YRH took this girl in, and did basic vetting while we posted her online and screened claimants.  This little girl presented with a very unique medical condition that any legitimate owner would immediately disclose.  

While lots of people tried to claim  her, it was apparent none of them were her real family.

After 7 days, she was released to rescue and is now available. We will find a proper home for this precious girl who will value her and take great care of her.

This girl has severe crate anxiety.  Her adopter should plan to NEVER use a crate with her.  A baby gate/exercise pen is appropriate.  She will need some patience as you help her become fully house-trained.  She does pretty good here, with a doggie door, but still does not 'hold it' overnight.

Public Service Announcement:
Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
