All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Astro is now ready for adoption.

Astro is the sweetest dog you will ever meet. When we brought him into YRH, he was very timid and scared. He has overcome some fears and learned to trust a loving hand. He has come so very far. He is a happy boy and just wants to snuggle. He likes walks and will spend a bit of time out in the yard, but he is a laptop dog and loves to get pets.  He is very submissive with men and does much better with women and children. He is crate trained but he still might have an accident every now and then if he is not taken out regularly.  He is a lover and needs that same type of owner, in return.

Astro does well with other dogs and cats with no issues.  In fact, after a couple of months he has found a 'bff' in the foster's rescue dog.

He is a full grown boy who was surrendered to our rescue when he was diagnosed with heartworm disease and the owner was not able to provide him the treatment he needed.

Astro has been treated for his heartworm disease and is now in recovery.  He is ready to be adopted.

Public Service Announcement:
Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
