All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

OOOPs litter!  These babies were surrendered to our rescue when their single parent mom knew she couldn't help raise puppies and provide for her family!  We offered to spay momma dog, and she agreed to let us!  

We know BOTH the parents of these beautiful puppies.  Mom is a Yorkie Mix, and dad is a pure-bred yorkie.

Since the puppy is too young to be spayed, she cannot be legally adopted yet.  As a result, she must be placed in 'foster to adopt' homes.  This means, the rescue still maintains legal ownership of the dog while she lives with you and upon satisfying the spay requirement when the dog reaches appropriate age, we complete the adoption contract.  Our vet said she can be spayed at appx 4 months of age.

As a foster, you would be required to get the puppy to our vet (in Spring) for regular visits for vaccinations and her spay appointment (@ The KAAWS Clinic in Humble) (the rescue pays for this).

If this is a problem your application cannot be approved.

You may apply to adopt from us directly from our web site.  Please visit www.yorkierescuehouston.org/forms and submit your application.  Upon review, a volunteer will contact you if there are questions.  Please be as thorough as possible in the answering the questions.  Missing phone numbers, invalid addresses, or other inaccurate data will cause your application to be denied without further processing.

If approved, we will forward your application to the foster for review.  If the foster feels like this is a ‘good fit’, they will contact you to schedule  a 'Meet & Greet'  

Should be you approved to 'foster-to-adopt' (FTA), you will be asked to execute a Foster-to-adopt Contract and submit ½ of the adoption fee.  (Our adoption fee varies by dog and payable by cash only.)

Public Service Announcement:
Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
