All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Ziggy was found.

A good Samaritan picked him up and took him in.  He had a chip!!  opened an alert with the chip company!  Owner contacted finder and said they were planning to euthanize him, but he ran away before they could.

Wait!  What?  She asked the 'owner' if they wanted him back and the person said 'Yes'  

(why? so you can kill him??)

He's in rough shape.  Flea infested, rotted teeth and infected gums.  

and intact.  We're neutering him and he's having a dental 1/31

Public Service Announcement:
Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
