All applications from 2023 have been purged. 

All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This sweet boy is a wonderful little dog. He is good with older considerate children and adults. He is very active and enjoys playing in the backyard but must not be left unattended because of his small size. He gets along with his foster brother a 25 lb poodle mix and loves wrestling with his foster sister a 10 lb Maltese mix. He loves to go for short walks and rides well in a doggy stroller. He also loves to be carried around. He loves car rides. He is mostly house broken but since he had not been neutered prior to rescue he tends to mark his territory if given the opportunity. He may very well outgrow this issue. 

This boy was found in a a multifamily complex near Richmond and Westheimer.  He appears to be well cared for and most likely has an owner.  A 'FOUND DOG' report has been opened with petfbi

Public Service Announcement:
Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
