All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Hi! My name is Ted! I was found wondering the streets by a jogger early one morning . He took me home, then my foster mom took me. The nice people at Yorkie rescue helped me out and took me in ! My foster momma says I’m very much a puppy and mischievous! I love to play with my foster doggie siblings and chew, luckily we have found lots of good bones for me! But boy do I love to steal socks . I’m now potty and crate trained, although I don’t love it I go in the crate easier now a days while my foster mom works . I was scared at first and had no idea how to be a pet but I’m coming around and realizing humans are cool .  I would love to find a family that is patient as I’m still learning to trust . I have not been around children yet , but my foster mom thinks I would do well with them and definitely love to play with other pets.

Public Service Announcement:
Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
