All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Lucky's dad moved in with his daughter who insisted Lucky stay confined to dad's room.

That's no kind of life for a little dog.  Dad broke his own heart and made a decision to let Lucky find a home where his family would appreciate/love and accept him in the home.

Lucky is (for the most part) house trained, having been used to a doggie door.  For 4 months, he's been confined and not able to get out when HE needed to, and as a result, may need some 'retraining'

Lucky's perfect home will be one with a doggie door or stay-at-home care provider.  Lucky loves walks and usually gets at least 2 or 3 a day

Lucky does well with other small dogs and cats.

His nails have overgrown, so routine trimming will be necessary for a few weeks.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
