All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Chole was surrendered from her owner of 2 years. 

At her foster home she’s living alongside other small dogs, children & cats. However she is NOT LIKING MY CATS even though they don’t bother her, she will approach them and not stop barking at them. She will NOT be adopted to anyone that has a cat! Chloe is what I call an escape artist, she will dash out the front door every chance she gets. And she hears that door open every single time, so you MUST be willing to train her on this matter. I, myself am working with her that we do NOT go out the front door unless I command her to. 

Likes: sleeping near/ with you, being outside/ going on walks, dogs, kids.

Dislikes: cats, thunder (she will shake a lot and go hide) and being crated (she will bark excessively until she’s let out). 

Training needed for:

House training, crate training & obedience. She needs help in a lot of areas so it’s best if she is high on your priority list.
 

She’s a gentle/ sweet dog that just needs some extra guidance. She loves sitting on the couch with you to snuggle. She loves being outside; roaming a fenced in area or going on a walk. **Just please remember she must be leashed or in a fenced area when outside… she will run from you.**

Public Service Announcement:
Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
