All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

FOSTER-TO-ADOPT ONLY!

A good samaritan reached out to us for help with this girl.  She had been abandoned when the lousy 'owner' moved and left her behind.   It took a few days to coordinate her rescue, but we found a volunteer and he fetched her from her nightmare and helped get get to us.

She had another name.  But she will never hear it again!  See, when they come to us in this state of abuse and neglect, we want absolutely no reminders of that old life.  New life, new name

Our vet staff named her Carole.  She is HW + and we will begin her treatment immediately.

Christmas Carol is now in FTA care and ready for her final adoption.

Should be you approved to 'foster-to-adopt' (FTA), you will be asked to execute a Foster-to-adopt Contract and submit ½ of the minimum donation.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or CASH.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
