All applications from 2023 have been purged. 

All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This tiny boy came from a 'BYB' (Back Yard Breeder) 

He lived outside in a constant state of neglect.  As a result, his eye were badly matted and that caused his lenses to suffer abrasions.  He has 'keratoconjunctivitis' (chronic dry eye) and will need to be on drops for the rest of his life to help him maintain his vision.

Doc's forever home will be:

A home with NO TODDLERS 

A home with at least 1 Stay at home adult, at MOST, 1 other SMALL (under 10 lbs) dog and ABSOLUTELY NO large dogs.  

No inground pool, a fully fenced yard with covered patio.

No acreage or mobile home, no wrought iron fences.

Yorkie Rescue Houston is a 501(c)(3) charity as defined by the I.R.S.  All donations* are deductible within the limits set by them.  Your donations go toward medical exams, vaccinations, spay & neuter, medications, Heartworm treatment and prevention, supplies, boarding, training.  We rely  100% on donations from the public.  Please consider a becoming a sponsor or monthly donor!  You can send us donations via paypal to donate@yorkierescuehouston.org

Public Service Announcement:
Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
