All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This beautiful girl was held in the city jail (dog pound) for 10 days waiting for her 'owner' to pay her bail, they refused and surrendered her to the shelter. We quickly pulled her out of there and went straight to the groomer. She was matted to the skin.  This baby was in such pain.  She was shaved and bathed, and now she is on his way to healing.  Her brother, Donny was abandoned with her.   We are very happy to help these precious babies find the family that deserves them.

They are NOT a bonded pair and will be adopted separately.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
