All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Available 'foster to adopt' due to age.   Texas state law (and Yorkie Rescue Houston Policy) prohibits the adoption of unaltered animals. These puppies will need to be 'foster to adopt' until they are age appropriate for spay/neuter. You may fill out the FOSTER application on our web site @ www.yorkierescuehouston.org/foster.html for consideration. (YRH requires our fosters to pass the same requirements we require our adopters for this very reason) However, as a foster you need to know that you will be responsible for finding a suitable (approved) replacement if you choose to no longer foster or give us 2 weeks notice. If you fail to do either of those 2 thing, the foster is required to pay for 2 weeks boarding at our Vet. You must know/agree to these terms UP FRONT.

Your responsibility as the foster is to get the puppy to the vet for vaccinations, checkups and spay/neuter when necessary, (the rescue pays for this) feed, wholesome puppy food, socialize, potty train, and prepare the puppy to be a forever pet when s/he is age appropriate to adopt.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
