All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This little one craves attention and loving.  Still working on training him to sit and stay but he's gotten the hang of standing by the back door to indicate he needs to go potty.

Great on a leash.  Is hesitant around new adults and will growl but that growl quickly turns into licks/kisses. He is aggressive around bigger dogs.  Don't recommend a furever home with big dogs (over 70lbs) or small kids (under 13yrs of age). He's not always comfortable around kids...especially little kids.   I think he just likes his space at times.  

And he absolutely LOVES stealing our socks and running away with them!!

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
