All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Tony was an HSPCA pull.  SPCA asks rescues to help with dogs they deem unadoptable.  We think Tony is VERY adoptable.  He is a special needs boy, who has bi-lateral grade 3 luxating patella's

He walks with a 'hitch in his get-along'.  There is no surgical correction.  He is not in pain, and gets around just fine.

He is very loving and attaches to his person.  He does not like to share love with other pets.  He will do best in a home with no other dogs, but does tolerate females

All adoptions are facilitated via an application/approval process.

Public Service Announcement:
Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
