All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Fifi as a tiny little cutie has a big funny personality and loves to cuddle. Very low energy and does her business outside quickly. She gets along with other dogs of all sizes as long as they stay out of her face and space. She is currently in foster with 2 large gentle dogs and has been great. She also does fine with cats as well. She likes to spend the majority of the day snuggled in her bed while gazing out the window but can be playful when the mood strikes her. Loves to sleep on her special blankie next to your pillow at night if you'll let her. She is cautious meeting new people and would be best in a home with no small children. She only barks while waiting for her meals to be served!  She is cold sensitive due to her size and wears her sweaters with no issues. Would be excellent for a senior owner.

Public Service Announcement:
Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
