All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This tiny girl was surrendered when the family had a baby.  Years of neglect, her mouth was rotted out and required a full mouth extraction (every tooth in her head had to be pulled due to decay, infection and bone compromise)

Tiffy has healed completely from her oral surgery.  Per her foster mom:

Tiffy is a sweet girl and adjusted to our home quickly - she weighs about 6 lbs - she is totally deaf and totally dependent on someone to keep her safe - when she is asleep in her kennel we gently tap on it to wake her rather than reach in to touch her because it startles her and she may be fearful for a moment or two - when she goes out in our secure back yard she is always on a leash because she tends to 'dart' and I don't want her to fall in the pool - she came close a couple of times - she does not like to have her face brushed/combed - she likes to burrow when she sleeps - she currently eats homemade food twice a day at 8:00am and 6:00pm with a small dollop of yogurt and/or pumpkin - she is a cuddle bug and will sit with you until you get up - she loves a laser light - she will pounce on shadows and sometimes just stare at the floor for no apparent reason - let me know if you have more specific questions -

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
