All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Monkey, his brother and his mama are all Parvo SURVIVORS!  Picked up as strays by Galveston County Animal Control. We pulled them from the shelter and began treatment for demodectic (non contagious) mange. A few days later they all started showing symptoms of canine parvovirus. We immediately took them to our vet er hospital where they were admitted and immediately began receiving intensive treatment that saved their lives. Monkey,  his brother Moose and mama Kitty are now Parvo-FREE and looking for his forever home!

Monkey is a tiny boy and soooo cute and funny! Loves toys and playing tug of war. He is still a little puppy and we are working on potty training. He uses his puppy pads faithfully but has not been outside yet as he only has had one vaccination so far. He will receive his second round of shots on 4/21 and then can start going outside in the grass. 

He is available for foster-to-adopt only.

This means that any approved adopter can take him home but will need to bring him to our vet for his final vaccinations and neuter surgery. Once he is neutered, his adoption can be finalized.  His perfect home is one with older, considerate kids ONLY. He is very small and will stay that way.

Public Service Announcement:
Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
