All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Meet Baby Ruth, a Hemmingway Puppy!! (Earnest Heminingway had polydactyl cats, or cats with more than 5 toes on their feet!) Snickers has double DewClaws..... 6 toes! She was born in January 2018, along with her sisters (some of  whom have found their forever homes now, yay!) Momma has been adopted now too, so Baby Ruth says it's time to find her forever home also. 

This adorable little girl is fully vetted, spayed, microchipped on HW prevention and READY for her new family to dote on her and play with her.

If you can't adopt, please apply to foster! Baby Ruth needs a foster too! Fostering is a great way to help dogs when you can't adopt.

Upon review of your application, a volunteer will contact you if there are questions. Please be as thorough as possible in the answering the questions on your adoption application. We recieve and process many applications for our dogs. Missing phone numbers, invalid addresses, or other inaccurate data will cause your application to be denied without further processing.

Once approved, we usually arrange our M&G at this PetSmart.

Donations are also accepted via paypal for all our rescue dogs expenses.

Please be patient if our response time is not as quick as you'd like.  We are all volunteers and do as much as we can when we can.

NOTE: We do adopt out of state, but do not provide transport. We are more than happy to adopt to an out of state family, as long as you are willing to come to Houston to adopt and will transport her home.

Public Service Announcement:
Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
