All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Sweety was surrendered by her finders who held on to her for 4  months looking for owners.

The family's 'on the go' lifestyle was not fair to Sweety so they decided to let us help find her a new family who can spend the quality time with her she deserves.

She is a delightful little girl.  Very sweet, (hence her name).  She is a shadow dog wanting to be near her person at all times. Sweety loves other dogs, big and small but would be fine in an only dog home as well. She is also okay with cats and doesn't bother them if they aren't a fan of dogs. 

She will do best in a home where someone is available a lot of the time to dote on her and make her feel special. She is quiet and doesn't bark or make much noise so she is a perfect companion.

Her foster reports she might do well in a therapy or emotional support environment.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
